Café Belmondo was founded on the passion for the best cup of coffee possible. Our quest for the best has taken us to the farms where coffee is meticulously grown, harvested and processed by artisan farmers who are passionate about coffee. Our green coffee buyer's passion for coffee started as a young child growing up in coffee producing areas. Later in life, our buyer traveled the world working side by side with farmers and processors, searching for coffee that has been given the proper care and respect it deserves.
The journey for the best cup of coffee does not end at the farm, which is only the beginning. Care must be given to the pulping, washing and drying of the coffee. Like an artist, the workers meticulously oversee the process and spend hours working with the coffee to make sure that the coffee will be a pleasure to drink.
After drying, the coffee is sorted and only the best beans of the lot make the grade of Café Belmondo. Distinctions of color, size or density are taste tested by coffee experts in the producing countries and taste tested by our green buyer. Café Belmondo will not compromise on quality.
Once the coffee arrives at the roasting plant, a panel of cuppers (professional tasters) and our green coffee buyer hand roast each lot and taste test the coffee before final roasting. Samples are roasted at different levels to determine the roast level that brings out the optimum characteristics of each coffee. Only then is the coffee ready for roasting and packaging.
Café Belmondo's master roasters are true artisans. Each batch is carefully watched, not by scientific equipment, but by the trained senses of sight, smell, sound and taste of the Café Belmondo Artisan roaster. As soon as the coffee reaches perfection, it is quickly cooled and immediately packaged to lock in the aroma and flavor of the Café Belmondo coffee.
Café Belmondo's artisans, from the farms all the way through our customer service representatives, have gone through years of training to bring you a cup of coffee that is a true pleasure to drink. Very few people have had an opportunity to drink a coffee that has earned the care and respect that a quality coffee deserves. Only after tasting Café Belmondo can one truly appreciate the labor of love that has gone into every cup of Café Belmondo coffee.
